HP Laserjet printer M254DW question

Hi,

I have an HP Laserjet printer M254DW and my color cartridges are empty, but black cartridge is Full. Can I continue to print in Black only, with color cartridges INSTALLED (but all color cartidges empty and installed) and Black cartridge installed (and Full) ? (it takes 3 separate color cartridges CYAN MAGENTA YELLOW and 1 BLACK).

Hello,

you can usually print in black-only with the M254DW as long as all cartridges are installed, even if the color ones are empty but some print jobs may still be blocked if the printer detects empty color cartridges.  Ulta Card

On the printer's control panel, go to SETUP -> System Setup -> Supply settings -> Color cartridges -> Very low settings->  change to Continue.

It's not recommended to use empty colour toner cartridges in the colour printer because even if empty, those cartridges rotate, and if you overuse an empty cartridge, it can affect the black print quality and even damage the printer
