We just put a new HP toner cartridge in our HP M209dw printer. We got a few things to print, but now we get a page that says "A problem occured and you will be unable to print except for printer reports until the issue is resolve." However there is no indication of what the error is. Can anyone help us? Thank you.

Supply problem

  • Toner cartridge not recognized
  • Defective toner cartridge
  • Non-HP cartridge that the firmware rejects
  • Remove the toner, inspect the contacts, and reinstall it.

Hardware fault

  • Door switch not detecting the front door is closed
  • Sensor failure
  • Formatter or actual hardware problem

Use the printers buttons to print an Info or Event log.  What error codes are shown?

Remove the  toner and look for tape or glue residue on the contacts.

Is this a 3rd party toner or a genuine HP (refilled or new)
