Brought printer in because of a Fuser issue. Removed Fuser, inspected, and everything looked good. In order to reinstall the Fuser, I had to lift the top cover off a little to position Fuser back into place. I did not know it at the time but the ribbon cable had come loose so when I fired the machine back up it gave me a blank screen. After taking the top cover off w/display I noticed the ribbon cable and plugged it back in to the slot on the formatter. When firing the printer back on, the display turns on but it is a faded white screen but then immediately flickers and goes black again. As the machine initializes, the screen will stay blank for about 20 seconds and then light up briefly before flickering and going blank again.

I am wondering if anyone has an idea which part could be to blame, the formatter or the display panel? Due to the inexpensiveness of the machine, I would hate to order either and it turn out not to be the issue.

I have posted a link to a short video of what the printer is doing so you can see and hopefully give some direction.

Those flat cables can be a curse. They are prone to the contacts lifting. I would unplug the cable and check to make sure there is no damage. If there is a problem with the contacts you can trim the end off with sharp scissors. Just ensure you cut straight across.

Thank you for the feedback. I did inspect the ribbon cable and it appears to be in good shape.
