I have 2 M605's that initially appears to have no power output.
After checking the power cable, outlet etc - all OK, I removed the low voltage power supply assembly, checked the 2 onboard fuses (FU1 & FU2) - again both OK, and refitted the power supply.
The printer then initally powered up and began its start up operation, after a short time the power failed again. When I checked the output from the LVPS to the dc controller I got 0 volts.
The LVPS appears to be going into over current / over voltage protection, but I'm not sure as to why.
has anyone else had this issue, or is this a known HP issue & what was the solution.
Thanks

Problem found -
It turned out the issue was a faulty toner cartridge (non HP - 3rd party cartridge) causing the LVPS to go into over current / over voltage protection.
Unfortunately this was discovered when the faulty cartridge was fitted to a 2nd M605, I replaced the LVPS's in both printers and everything is now working.

Hi Guy-1,
In my humble opinion:
Unless you have both electronics knowledge and the LVPS circuit knowledge, you can't say what is going wrong with it or fix it. Visually inspecting the LVPS for any damage on some components may not always give you a sure diagnosis of what is at fault.
Replacing the LVPS is best and safest for the printer way to go.
Cheers!

Thanks for the reply.
I was going to change the LVPS, my only concern is - what is causing the LVPS to go into over current / over voltage protection, and will I get the same issue with the new LVPS.
I have had in the past, fusers causing similar issues, and wondered if anyone had seen the same problem with the M605's.
Thanks

I have a 2-1/2 year old HP Enterprise M605 printer that suddenly started printing a gray area in the middle of the print out (with sort of a white frame around it). Has anyone else had this problem? I called HP and all they were interested in was buying a new printer --giving me $50 off but charging me $60 to ship it overnight! They claim there have been no problems with this model, but I don't believe that! Anyone else have issues like this?
