HP Officejet Pro 9018 printer suddenly doesn't have an icon for wireless. It was automatically set up as wireless when purchased and I have been using it wireless for quite some time. However, just had to install a new model/router and suddenly the wireless icon/option has disappeared from the printer. No option to connect wireless. only ethernet available.

@dhowey, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are not able to connect the printer wirelessly. When an ethernet cable is connected, the wireless feature is disabled. Disconnect the Ethernet cable.
On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network Setup > Restore network settings
Go back to Network > Wireless > Wireless setup wizard and select your network.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

My HP 9018 is having the exact same issue. I have only ever used it wirelessly and suddenly the wireless light on the printer is off and the wireless icon no longer appears anywhere on the control panel. I get a message telling me that my ethernet is not connected (I do not want to use this printer via ethernet, nor have I ever connected ANY cables). No way to even get to the wireless settings. HP Smart can't find the printer. I am dead in the water. Help please!

@Becky_M, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand the wireless feature is not working on the printer.
Did you check under Settings > Network > Wireless?
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
-
From the home screen on the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon
.
-
Swipe up on the display, and then touch Reports.
-
Touch Network Configuration Page.
A Network Configuration Page prints up to two pages of information. Check if the wireless radio is on/working.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

I have this same problem and the wireless radio icon is not available and it’s not lit up in blue as it usually is. I’ve tried all the above listed measures except for a full reset which I don’t know how to do. Can you please help me fix this?

Thank you for your response, but it did not work for me. I finally resolved the problem by downloading the full set of drivers from the HP website, and reinstalling them, including updates. At the VERY last step, the wireless icon magically reappeared. Very strange.
