My HP Laserjet 2300 stopped printing and is unresponsive to print commands. I am using an iMac running OS 10.7.5
Steps taken:
1. Checked cables.
2. Printer can print pages from the printer itself.
3. Checked for software updates.
4. Reset Print systems 4 X
5. Ran Disk Repair twice.
Printer is still unresponsive to print command.

I would think the usb port on the printer has gone bad. You can try adding an eio jetdirect card and attach the printer via ethernet to your router or switch if you have one. Cards can be bought on ebay for about 10.00. Look for HP 600N, 610N or 615N.

How is the printer connected? This printer was capable of connecting to a network with an EIO jet direct card and used the 615N card which is known to develop issues over time. If you are connected via network, run the config page and see if you get a second page and if not, report back for instructions. If you get a second page make sure it has an ip address assigned. If using usb suggest you try another usb cable and/or another usb slot on the computer.
