I am using HP Touchsmart 310 running Win10-64, and an HP ENVY5530 series wireless prionter.
I had been running this combination for a couple years successfully, but recently moved. After the move and conncting to a new wifi network, I cannot get the printer to install. When I click the printer icon on desktop it launches the installation program, which never completes. Both devices are connected to the same wifi network.
I can try to print by using the File-> Print options, and get the printer infterface with ENVY 5530 as an option. But nothing prints, and I get no errors.
Using the Win 10 Start men u I can see the HP software listed, but when I click it, the device setup.exe launches. This never works when I run it.

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with not being able to reinstall the printer drivers after changing your wireless network. Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂
To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:
- Did you run HP print and scan doctor and check if it gets fixed?
For now, try these steps:
Please perform a clean uninstallation and reinstallation of the printer drivers by following these steps:
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Remove all instances of the same.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
- Restart the PC again.
Creating a new User account is optional. First, install it in the same User account. If this does not work, create a new user account and reinstall the printer drivers
- Then create a new user account as an administrator from this link: https://hp.care/2rZfJBC
Log into the new user account after restarting your computer.
Then download the latest full feature driver from https://hp.care/2sRmB5a and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.
Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
This should fix the issue.
If the issue continues, then please download the Windows Built-in drivers by following instructions from this link: https://hp.care/2o3acvH

I was able to get the printer to work, but I'm not sure how or why. I now have an app called HP Smart to use with my printing and scanning. The origianl software app I installed no longer works with this printer.
After running the reinstalling of drivers the new app launched. I was able to pin it to the task bar to keep it visible for future use. It seems to be working fine.
