Hi @mdeese,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are experiencing issues with ink not flowing into the tank of your HP Smart Tank printer. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this problem:

Ensure Proper Installation of Ink Bottles:

  • Verify that the ink bottle is properly seated and aligned with the ink tank's port.

  • Make sure the ink bottle's nozzle is fully inserted into the tank's opening.

Check for Blockages:

  • Inspect the tank opening for any blockages or obstructions that might prevent ink flow.

  • Clear any dried ink residue or foreign objects from the tank opening.

Examine Ink Bottle:

  • Ensure the bottle's nozzle is unobstructed and that the seal has been fully removed.

  • Replace the ink bottle if the nozzle is damaged or ink does not flow when the bottle is tilted.

Use Genuine HP Ink:

  • Confirm that you are using genuine HP ink bottles, as non-HP bottles may not fit correctly and may lead to ink flow issues.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Power off the printer, unplug the power cord, and wait for about 60 seconds.

  • Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on to reset the system.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
