Hi so i got this used HP LaserJet P1005 printer and for the last two hours I've been having trouble with the driver part of it. I downloaded the thing from 123.hp.com/setup and it said that the recommended diver is HP Smart but when i install it and tried to add my printer nothing happens the dots just spin until i turn it off. I should say that the printer doesn't have any wifi or bluetooth support so cable it is. Ive tried the basic driver that does work but it doesn't tell me stuff like toner levels.
Any ideas or solutions are welcome and thanks in advance!

Hi,
Your printer is not supported by the HP Smart app, it is intended for later HP printers only.
With a basic solution, there is no Toolbox available to get toner levels, etc, the provided software only provide basic print capabilities.
Try following the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility by selecting your printer and clicking Next, then click the Printer menu and select Supply Levels, see if you may get the levels from the utility.
If that fails to work with your printer, I afraid there is no such functionality for your printer for any later operating system.
