is that smooth or is the paper wrinkled where the defect is? If wrinkled at all you may have a fuser issue. If smooth there might be a problem with the transfer Belt.

This is a brand new printer I have only used a few times, I hope this is not a common issue??  And yes it does crease the paper!!

Have you ever had a paper jam you had to clear? There might be a piece of paper that was left in the paper path that is affecting the paper as it feeds through causing it to crease.

Check your paper cassette paper guides to make sure they aren't set too tightly against the sides of the paper. There should be spots along the guide slides that the guides kind of click into for the paper size you're using. If the guides are too tight, the paper may not be being fed into the printer correctly.

I have never had a paper jam and the paper is normal size and the paper fits in there perfetly

Is the printer on a solid, flat, level surface that is the same size as or larger than the printer?

Also, make sure the printer is not sitting on anything like cables, or any other obstruction higher than the flat surface that could push up on the tray or printer.

HP Recommended

No, my printer is sitting appropriately on my desk

Well, we've covered any other possible causes, and without actually working on the printer, the only thing left is the fuser that is most likely the culprit. Very unusual for a new printer. Contact HP warranty support to see what they want to do next.
