When printing, my printer started "screaming" when printing and the page was solid grey like moire with no apparent or readable text. No paper jams noted and printer behaved normal otherwise except for shutting down the print job when this happened. It will now also "scream" when turning on the printer. I can still print some completely mormal pages, then then it starts again. So, ... what do I do to fix the issue? The printer has been working totally fine until now (isn't that the way it usually is?!).

As to laser printer when you heard screaming  while printing it often means that the scanner is bad and needed to be replaced or oiled.

The black box is the scanner.

It's not the same type as P2015 but it's the so called scanner which every laser printer gets one and color's has four.

When the scanner can not turn freely enough it is screaming at first then will seize up one day.

Thank-you! Looks like my problem is found as the sound is the same. Now let's see if I can fix it. I don't think I will use olive oil as suggested, but perhaps sewing machine or clipper oil.

It has just started, so hopefully oiling it will give me a lot more time with it.

Remember to apply just a tiny drop of oil or else you'll ruin it.

Just a tiny of tiny of oil.

Thanks for the help.

Took the printer apart down to that mirror rotor. Oiled it (dipped a push pn in oil and spread it around the shaft opening. Was afraid to drop oil into the opening.) Put the whole printer back together and printing is going fine and it is just purring! Sounds great!
