prints blank pages. Removed network card, same. Engine test prints blank pages. Event log  blank. Last pages that printed had good solid ink, but orientation was odd, and chars much bigger than usual. Is there a hard reset or similar available?

thanks

You can try a cold reset, but if engine test is blank that is likely not to help. Cube a cartridge contact or a defective cartridge.

After seeing some non-specific hints about the laser shutter, I finally found enough info to work out what and where it was, and after removal (finding a broken piece of plastic along the way) I got the shutter off, and its all working again now! I dont know what the world is coming to when a printer only 20 years old fails like this!

thanks
