I installed the latest printer drivers for Windows 10 a few weeks ago and can no longer print on my old LaserJet 2200D.
Do I have to rely on Linux to print, or is there a way to persuade Windows to recognise the printer?
Thanks in advance,
Steve

HP 2200d's driver is included in Win 10 no need any other driver CD and there's not either.
You can add 2200 manually by selecting connected port Dot4-001 (not USB001) and fonud it in HP's list.
All will be done.
Printers & Scanners
Add printers & scanners
Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings
NEXT
Use existing port
DOT4_001
NEXT
If 2200/2200d is not listed in the HP menu list -> click Windows Update under right side of HP menu list.
Seat and wait for its running ,and go back find 2200 again it should be there.
If it's not you can find HP 1200/2100.... will be fine too.

Thank you for your responses.
The problem was that my pc didn’t recognise the printer automatically. The situation has now resolved itself, without any effort on my part. I assume that the latest Windows update cured the problem introduced by an earlier update.

Hi there,
I'm also trying to install a HP laserjet 2200D printer on Windows 10. I've tried various things until I found the promising guide by East2100.
All steps work well up to the printer selection process. The printer version doesn't shop up in any list (not under HP, nor Hewlett Packerd, nor Hewlett-Packard). I've refreshed a number of times, ending up with a different printer list every time, excluding both the 2200D and the alternatives 1200 and 2100 (I'm assuming they refer to the full description, e.g. "HP Laserjet 1200 ...").
What else can I try? Thanks in advance.
