How do I activate the driver for my HP Laserjet 1100 that downloaded to my c:\1100  subdirectory?  I unzipped them, but what now?

Thanks for the reply.  There was a *.exe file.  When I clicked on it, I was asked whether I wanted to unzip.  When I said YES, it created a new subdirectory c:\1100 and put a bunch of unzipped *.dll files in that subdirectory.  It is not clear to me whether the new driver got installed on my computer.  What do I do now?

Thanks JasJoe

Thanks for the continued help.  Here's some feedback:

I downloaded that *.exe file again, RIGHT CLICKED on it, and again was offered the option to unzip it to C:\1100.  I accepted that option again, with the same batch of *.DLL files and a few others resulting.

Then I opened that first link you gave me, and decided to call up the PRINTERS tab on the CONTROL PANEL, and use the ADD PRINTERS wizard as it recommended.  I selected the REPLACE EXISTING DRIVERS option and lots of useful-looking things happened.  I ended up with a second copy of the printer, so I deleted the first one and successfully printed a test page using the newly-installed printer driver.

So I am fairly confident that my Laserjet 1100 will behave itself, and I appreciate your recommending things I could try.  That's all for now.
