I have a HP M477 fdw laser pro printer and I keep getting a 60.02 error. I cannot clear the error. Prior to the error the message read tray 2 printer jam. I removed  paper all Jams and restarted the printer. Still same results. Does anyone have a suggestion.

The 60.02 error is a lift motor error, which means the printer does not detect the tray moving into the correct position when installed.

We have had cases where there is a small bits of paper near the pickup roller that prevents the flags there from working. The easiest way to access this is to remove the cartridges and the paper tray and gently tilt the printer onto one side so you can see the whole bottom. A piece of paper wrapped around the fuser in the back is a possibility as well.

I cleared all jammed paper but still not working. Hp support said my tray lift sensor and mechanism needs replacing but they would not sell the consumer the part it had to be through a certified hp repair shop.

so with that in mind I brought my M477 printer to Best Buy for a trade in and purchased the M479 on sale and I got an additional 15% off for the trade

so I have a new printer new drivers new everything and it works great

i got 3 hard printing years out of my M477 so no regrets

i only expect hp printers to last 3 to 4 years anyway

i never got more life out of HP printers beyond 4 years
