Hi @Tpvoth
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query.
To disable or change automatic firmware update settings on your HP printer, HP recommends adjusting the settings in two places: on your HP Account and directly on the printer's interface.
Update Settings in Your HP Account
- Sign in to the HP Smart website.
- Select Printers from the left-hand menu.
- Locate the Firmware Update Settings section and choose your preferred option.
Update Settings on the Printer
You can access the printer's Advanced Settings either by opening the HP app (selecting your printer and clicking Advanced Settings) or by typing your printer’s IP address into a web browser to open the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
Follow the steps that correspond to your Advanced Settings layout:
Top Menu Interface:
- Click the Printer Update tile, or go to Tools > Printer Updates > Firmware Updates.
- If prompted, enter the PIN found on the printer label (usually inside the cartridge access door).
- In the Firmware Update Settings section, choose your update setting.
- Note: If the settings appear grayed out, click the Web Services tab and remove Web Services, as active service enrollments require automatic updates to remain enabled.
Side Menu Interface:
- Expand General in the left sidebar and click Firmware Update.
- Enter the PIN from the printer label if prompted.
- Click Firmware Update Settings and select your preferred setting

Take care and have an amazing day!
