best way would be to load the photo paper into the MP tray, it provides a more direct path w/ less folds. make sure to set the guides & then paper type to the correct setting in the paper handling setup, otherwise the quality might not be great.

Hi Thebeebs,
To load photo media into the 477 please do the following.
In the print window of the app you are printing with open one photo and select print.
When the print driver opens select the correct printer then select Paper Tray 1. paper size for your photo paper (maybe 4X6)
I recommend choosing paper type as HP Brochure Glossy 200g, unless your photo paper says something very different
Choose if you want one photo or many wallets or such and Fill page as the fit. Also choose print ONE SIDE only
Next or in the reverse order, load the media (a few sheets glossy side up) into tray 1
On the control panel Choose set up, System setup, paper setup, then Tray 1
You then have 2 items to fill out. Please make sure the paper size is the same as you chose for the photo paper above. Then make sure you choose the paper type the same as you chose in the driver setting above.
Once the printer and the driver are set to the same values, the media will pull from Tray 1 when you print the photo or several photos. You MAY have to remove the media from tray 1 and reinsert one time to convince the printer that you really put in the media you typed into the screen, since if there is media in there during the typing, it sometimes asks...
Make sure to set the paper guides so that the media is comfortable in the tray, not too tight. I like to load short edge into the machine, since the paper handling is better that way. Just make sure you adjust your print driver to portrait or landscape depending on which way the photo is previewed to you on that media.
Please let me know if this helped, Dovid
