How do I prevent my laser printer leaving red lines every time I print documents?

My Laser Jet Pro MFP M277dw worked perfectly until a few weeks ago. Now it produces pink streaks and spots down the margins of each page I print. I have tried updating the software and wiping the cylinders, but it still produces streaks. The colour printer cartridges are very low on toner but we are reluctant to replace them as we don't need colour printing (and replacing the cartridges is very expensive). Is there a solution that doesn't entail buying new colour cartridges?
