On your PC. Go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click on the icon for your printer and then select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Click on the printer preferences on the general tab and then click on color tab and select "print in greyscale". Turn off "HP EASYCOLOR" on the right side of this window and then click settings and set all printing to black only so that it uses true black and not composite black which uses all colors. This sets your default to black. When you want to print in color you go to properties, color and turn color. Remember that when you change to color the setting stays on until you close the program you were using when you turned color on.
