How to change SSID on laser jet M15W

Log into the modem or router and change the SSID (names) of each band so the names are different. Create a numeric password identical for each band to simplify login. If you must use alphanumeric characters then do not use any from this set: ilL1oO0D8B5S as they are easily mixed up depending on the font used. Be sure to run the application (if any) that finds the best channel for each band. Your ISP should be able to do all of this for you if you need help.

If you just got a new router or new ISP then program it with:

• The same SSID (network name) as the old router
• The same Wi-Fi password
• The same security type (typically WPA2-Personal or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode)

Your printer may reconnect automatically with the new router. However, your PC may have an old IP address, but you can always tell the PC to find the printer, and it will obtain the new IP address.

Wi-Fi direct mode uses the PIN. This is useful if you want to avoid configuring or using the modem / router.

To use Wi-Fi Direct, make sure it is enabled.
To check Wi-Fi Direct name and password (pin), print a configuration report by pressing
and holding the Resume/Cancel LED starts blinking, and then release the button.
