I've seen others with a similar issue of repeated 'jam' in Paper Tray 2 - the problem seems to be rollers. As the printer is just unable to pick up a second sheet... only ever the first one.

I have found other posts on here pointing to repair videos with other similar models - but the inside does not look the same so i'm unable to repair the same way.

Does anyone know how to release the pick up roller and the separation roller to replace both? I already have the spares.

Thanks!

You don't have them because they are broken, someone broke those tabs.

Use a small flathead screwdriver to release one side of the broken tab and then pop out that side of roller out them do the same on the second side. Take care that first side you released doesn't get back in the locked position, hold it with your fingers or use 2 screwdrivers.

Thank you for your reply. I saw your other post on this topic. Unfortunately, my roller does not look like the one in that video. It doesnt have small white clips to unlock. Everything is black and looks quite different. Photo attached to the post.

I can't find helpful information in the manual either.

If anyone knows how to change the roller on this machine please let me know!

When you execute the replace roller from the 2nd service menu and unplug the printer. Remove the tray, lift front side of the printer and in the back in the middle you will see paper pickup roller and tabs that need to be released to pop out the old roller.

Next step is separator roller removal and replacement, and the pickup roller D shaped is last.

Thanks. After a bit of jiggling around, the roller came out easily and i switched it. I could not get the separator roller out without feeling like i was going to snap something so i left it. But reconnected printer and it was working again so have left it.

Now to try and finally set up wireless printing!! I tried when i got it years ago and it was so hard to get working i gave up.
