Turn your printer OFF.

Press and hold on your front panel Cancel button ( X) and right arrow button ( -> ) simultaneously.

Turn printer ON.

Continue to touch these buttons until Permanent storage initialization message appears on the screen, release the buttons.

You will need to press and hold with 2 fingers places on the touchscreen where right arrow and cancel are located, turn your printer ON, keep holding X and -> until Permanent storage initialization appears on the front panel, you can't miss it.

I have the same exact question. I have tried pushing both of the buttons in those areas and the printer does not reset. Memory is too low to print. I have also tried deleting the stored faxes and that has not released any memory.  Someone please tell me how to factory reset?

I found another solution that works for me.

Power Off the printer

Press and hold bottom left corner of touch screen where progress bar appears when you start the printer.

Power On the printer

Release touch screen when you see "Permanent storage init".

If you see the HP Init screen it didn't work.

Thanks,
