This is a problem with our work printer. When we print tickets, it is printing double on the left and right sides of the page. The double image is very faint, and isn't causing any major issues currently, however knowing printers, it will probably only get worse. I have tried a hard restart, cleaning the printer path, cleaning underneath the toner, cleaning the drum, and we even replaced the toner cartriage and the issue remained.  I've been googling ways to fix the issure and have come up empty each time. What else might I do to fix the issue without having a tech look at it?

The Fuser Film Sleeve, (aka Hot Roller), will cause a repetitive defect every 2.24 inches, (57 mm).

If you've already replaced the toner cartridge then the issue is likely the fuser and that might require a tech to replace.

I suggest you do a little bit of research and find out how hard the fuser is to replace and determine if it's if it is within your technical capabilities.

You might also be able to replace just the film sleeve in the fuser but that would be even harder than replacing the whole assembly.

Since I think you are describing a repetitive defect if you would give me the spacing between the start of one defect in the start of the original print that is being repeated then we could determine if it's the fuser. (But that's the way to bet)

If you have to hire a technician to install a new fuser then it might be time to replace the printer.

This sounds extremely helpful! It is a repeating issue, and it looks like the shadow/double printing is reoccuring on the page about every 2 inches.

Thanks! We will probably just buy a new printer!
