Ok here is the issue. My printer starts and I get an error message that there is a jam in right door.

Opening the door there is no visible paper except for some small scraps behind a black rod over a silver piece. near the bottom of the printer

I cannot pull them out and I do not know how to remove the rod

Can you post a picture of where it is jammed?

There are several places in the paper path that could cause this error. I would start by completey removing tray 2 from the bottom of the printer- that way you can see underneath and make sure there are no torn pieces hanging up there. Just pull the tray out gently until it stops- then lift up on the fron to release. You have 2 right doors on the 3525. One is the bypass tray (tray 1) and the second is the main door you pull open to change the fuser and clear jams. Open the bypass tray door first, just to make sure you can't see any little pieces of paper or potentially an adhesive label that may have peeled off. If that all looks good, open the main door so you can see the entire paper path. Look again starting at the bottom of the paper path where tray 2 is, follow  that path up to the top of the printer where the fusing unit is located. You may want to remove the fuser just to allow more light inside the machine- It has 2 handles and blue release tabs to take it out. Set it aside someplace safe while you continue your paper jam quest.  Some torn paper or labels can hide pretty well- and if you can't locate it- you may need as visit from a printer tech. Little tears are good at hiding- sometimes it takes me several looks to find them- having a small flashlight may help.

I am not a HP employee. I am a service tech on these forums researching topics and offering my best guess to aide in your troubleshooting.
