The printer is not recognizing any levels of toner but they should be full. I cannot remove the toner cartridge tray to investigate as it seems to be hanging up on the right side. How do I get the tray out without damaging the printer

Hi @marny2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you are having trouble removing the toner cartridge tray from your HP LaserJet Pro 3201dw printer, here are some general steps you can follow to safely remove it:

Turn Off the Printer: Before attempting any maintenance or parts removal, make sure your printer is turned off and unplugged to prevent any electrical hazards or damage.

Open the Printer Cover: Locate the printer cover and gently open it. This will give you access to the toner cartridge area. Depending on your specific printer model, this might be the front cover or a top cover.

Locate the Toner Cartridge: Once the cover is open, you should see the toner cartridge. It is usually situated underneath a protective cover or within a tray.

Handle the Cartridge Carefully: Gently grasp the handle of the toner cartridge. If it is stuck, do not force it. Check for any plastic locks or tabs that need to be disengaged. Some cartridges have a release button that you must press before removing the cartridge.

Remove the Cartridge: Pull the cartridge out in a straight and even motion. If it resists, double-check for any packing materials or locks that might not have been removed during the initial setup.

Inspect for Obstructions: Once removed, inspect the cartridge and the tray for any obstructions or pieces of packing material that might be causing the issue.

Reinsert or Replace: Once the issue is resolved, you can reinsert the same cartridge or replace it with a new one if needed. Make sure it is seated correctly before closing the printer cover.

Test the Printer: Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and run a test print to ensure the cartridge is working properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
