HP9092EB printer keeps giving a printer error. I sometime can print once and then not again. All drivers are up to date and HP has latest version. HP said it was McAfee. McAfee uninstalled and still had same issue.

Many HP and other OEM printers have problems with the router when the router has two or more bands and all have the same name (SSID). Log into the modem and rename one of the bands. Alternately, contact your ISP and have them rename a band, or simply use Wi-Fi direct.
NOTE: If you signed up for instant ink, internet services, or your printer model ends in the letter 'e' then click the spoiler for special needs.
Your e series printer probably needs to phone home. Put it online to the router using the 2.4ghz band
This video shows how to connect to the router: 4252
A simple connection to the router can be done by using the WPS pushbutton method. This is explained on page 11 in this User Manual.
Get a network report
. The PINs and Passwords should show up. Here is the important stuff from a typical printer report. The password shown in Wi-Fi can be the printers PIN or the modem's password depending on how you connected to the modem. The printer can have two bands but the only one that is connected will show up.
| LAN | STATUS | IP address | SSID | Password |
| Wi-Fi | enabled | 192.168.1.15 | ATT-ARRIS-2 .4 | GuessAgain |
| Wi-Fi-direct | enabled | 192.168.23.1 | DIRECT-WHATEVER | BadGuess |
| Wired | disabled | |||
| USB | disabled |
if the Wi-Fi or wired IP address show 169.254.x.y then there is no connection to the router.
Print from laptop or smartphone using Wi-Fi direct
Wi-Fi Direct can be used to avoid configuring the router. Watch this: 4252
Wi-Fi Direct is explained on page 11 of the User Manual, this Wi-Fi setup avoids going through the router.
I am guessing you were told to stop McAfee because of VPN or a firewall block???
Is your location flex or using boosters or repeaters?
