Laserjet 1300n
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi

I'm in desperate need of help!

I bought a HP Laserjet 1300n with the view of using it to print to one wired connection and two further wireless connections in an office.

I went in to a little ignorant, it listed 'wireless connectivity' on it's specifications so I assumed it would be easy to do.

Long and the short of it, I just can't find a way of getting it work!

It works fine on the wired connection using the HP Universal Print Driver - but how do I get it to work wirelessly?

I bought a Jet Direct en3700 printer server but this looks like it has to be plugged directly into the router through an ethernet cable which is not possible.

Is the Jet Direct 380x an option? It says its compatible with the printer but don't want to buy yet another something for it not to work.

I really would be so grateful for any help - this is getting far too stressful!

Hi Kerri,

I belive you are using windows 32bit in this case uninstall the drivers and install the updated version of drivers through following link below.

Hi kerriwhite,

It is difficult from your description what your network and priting needs are. However, let me describe what you can accomplish with the HP LaserJet Pro 1300n (non-wireless) device. If you have connected the device via an ethernet cable to your network and your network also has a wireless access point then you will be able to print from either wired (ethernet) connected devices like PCs as well as wireless devices like phones or tablets. The wireless devices just need to be associsated to the same network as the printer.

For example, in my home office I have the printer ethernet (wired) connected to my wireless router as well as my desktop PC and all my wireless devices are associated to that router as well. I can print from my  desktop PC to the printer as well as my wireless phone and tablet.

In summary the printer does not have to be a wireless model to print from wireless devices, the printer just needs to connected to the same network as your wireless devices. Hopfully your setup includes a wirless access point on your network.

I hope this helps.
