HI,

Recently I keep getting messages to Load Tray 1 16k. I can still print from tray 2 by pressing check mark button. I have tried multiple suggestions I have read elsewhere and tried cold resetting, but nothing seems to help. If I print a test page it will come directly from Tray 2. Anything else I get the message above. I am not to versed in these printers so any step by step guides will be appreciated.

99% of the time, this type of error problem is caused by a driver or application configured to print a paper size that is not loaded in the printer. The printer then stops and waits for that paper to be loaded, in your case that paper size is 16K. Check the default paper size in the driver and make sure it is set for letter or A4 (depending on your location)  and if you are printing a PDF ensure that you turn off the "choose paper size by PDF size" option so that the paper size defaults to a standard size.
