I need older firmware

, I saw your older post where someone  said they had the January 2021 firmware for the HP Color LaserJet Pro M454dw. I’m trying to downgrade my M454dw and have been unable to find that firmware anywhere. Does anyone still have a copy you could share with me? I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

My issue is not related to the network or printer drivers. The printer was working with my third-party toner cartridges, but after the firmware was updated, the printer began rejecting them as non-HP/non-authentic cartridges. The cartridges are essentially brand new, so I’m trying to restore an older firmware version rather than replace them.

I am specifically looking for an older firmware package for the HP Color LaserJet Pro M454dw, preferably 002_2208A or earlier. I have already located 002_2247A, but I would like to obtain an earlier version if HP still has one archived.

Could you please check with HP’s technical/firmware team to see whether an archived M454dw firmware package can be provided?

I will also confirm the exact firmware version currently installed on my printer and post it here.

It is important to note that HP does not recommend the use of third-party toner cartridges because they can result in print quality issues, reduced page yields, and in some cases may cause damage to the printer hardware.

The HP Color LaserJet Pro M454dw is designed to work with cartridges that contain a genuine HP chip embedded in the cartridge. This requirement applies to:

• Original HP toner cartridges
• Third-party cartridges that do not contain a compatible HP chip

This technology is known as Dynamic Security. Dynamic Security-enabled printers are intended to operate with cartridges that contain an HP electronic chip.  Cartridges using non-HP chips or modified chips may not function, and cartridges that work today may not work in the future following firmware updates.

I fully understand that.  But the way the update is structured now locks up my printer . Kind of feel it’s on me if I wreck my printer or print quality . I’m just looking for the older firmware is all.. can you help with that?

The issue I’m trying to resolve is not related to the network or printer drivers. I specifically need an older firmware version for the HP Color LaserJet Pro M454dw so I can attempt to downgrade the printer.

The older firmware package I’m looking for is 002_2247A, or another compatible M454dw firmware version from before the newer firmware updates.

I understand HP may no longer list these older versions on the normal download page, but I’m hoping an HP representative or another community member may still have the original firmware package or an official archived download.

If anyone has 002_2247A or another older M454dw firmware file, I would greatly appreciate the help.

The network and printer drivers are working correctly. My issue is specifically related to the firmware and cartridge compatibility.

I am looking for an older firmware version for the HP Color LaserJet Pro M454dw so I can roll the printer back to a version from before the firmware changes that affected cartridge compatibility.

I already have firmware version 002_2247A, so I am specifically looking for a version older than 002_2247A.

Could you please check with HP to see if an older M454dw firmware package is available in your archives, even if it is no longer listed on the public support page?

I would greatly appreciate any older firmware file or official archived download that HP can provide.
