My printer has always recognized 192.168.1.1 and worked fine for 4 years now.  I bought a new laptop  this week and had it connected and printing just fine 2 days ago.  Now the printer will not connect to IP address 192.168.1.1 and keeps displaying the 169.254...

I looked at similar postings and checked my router.  The solution for someone else was to change to WPA.  My router is set to WPA .  So that did not fix it.

I have reset to defaults to see if it would go back to 192...  No luck.

I have also downloaded updated driver.

I can plug into the printer with my USB and print just fine from this one computer.  But all others will not connect by wireless.

Any suggestions?

The address it is showing is called a private address. This is auto assigned if the printer is unable to get an address from the DHCP  server, which in this case would be your router. Are you connecting wireless or wired?

Wireless

Have you changed your passphrase recently? It sounds like the printer is not able to negotiate with the wireless to obtain an address.

No, I have not changed the password.  I can connect fine wireless to internet through router on my desktop, and 3 laptops.  I am using the same IP address and same password for all.
