Laserjet Pro 402n
Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

Really like my new HP 402n and it's fast and does a nice job printing on sheet paper and envelopes but it has trouble completely fusing the type on adhesive backed Avery 5160 address  label paper. The type on the lower half of the page are misformed, smudgy and easily rub off. It's like there is insufficient heat to fuse the type onto the paper. I have downloaded the latest driver and firmware. Is there a fix for this? My retired Laserjet HP2100m did a fine job on these labels. Thanks.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the Avery labels have an Incomplete fusing on label sheets,

To confirm, does this issue occur only while printing on Avery 5160 Labels when Text is not Properly Aligned? if yes, Click here and follow the step by step guide.

I suggest you also check with fixing print quality: Click here for details.

Hey there, HP Support,

Looking through your suggestions, I did find that in Word's  Print dialog box, under "Copies and Pages" there is a pull down menu listing the various media types including "Labels". Clicking on that and then printing, I noticed a slower paper feed and the labels came out with the type  properly fused throughout the page. Problem solved!  I'll have to remember to do that from now on.

Thanks so much for the help.
