Inconsistent Printing Results on Envelope

Am getting inconsistent print results even though nothing changes.

Printing on standard envelope, envelope paper type is the same, standard HP toner, no change to printer settings, inconsistent regardless of software generating request.

The print (text and image) is sometimes dark and clear, other times is faded and washed out - happens randomly - and have to reprint hoping it will print better the second or third time (eventually does).

tried things like setting the print gloss to "best, " changing the shading to darker, with no luck .....

any ideas?

Have you tried disabling auto sense on the MP tray?

No - I just tried looking up "auto sense" in the user manual with no hits ...... any other term I can look it up by?
