My ink cartridges are stuck to the far right side. I've completed all the trouble shooting and can't resolve the issue. Getting paper cartridge stuck error; There is no paper stuck inside. Computer cannot find printer. Getting fed up and about to chuck it in the burn barrel! Any suggestions?

Hi @MooreCreative1,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand that you are getting a “cartridge stuck error” message on your OfficeJet printer. Appreciate all your efforts. I will certainly do my best to help you with the issue!

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you checked for any obstructions inside the printer?

Have you tried to clean the cartridge contacts as well as the rollers?

I would first like you to clean the paper path inside the printer. Unplug the printer from the wall socket, use a lint free cloth and try and wipe clean the carriage path / paper path thoroughly inside the printer. There might be very small debris or dust particles which might be causing slight issues for the free carriage movement. Cleaning the carriage path will help us fix the issue. Also, try and move the carriage manually using little force.

You can check the detailed steps here: A 'Carriage Jam' or '0X610000F6' Message Displays for HP Officejet 7500A (E910a and E910c) Wide Form...

Once done, I need you to perform a power drain to clear the error message on the printer. Here are the steps:

  • Remove the cartridges from the printer.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

If you have followed these steps and still having the issue. I would suggest this could be a possible hardware failure. I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for available service related options.

I will try and assist. You will need to get the cartridges to move so i will try and explain how i normally do this.If you open the door as to replace the ink look to the left inside the machine and find the gear that is on the shaft for feeding paper.Switch the machine off and turn that gear by hand and try to release the carriage unit.Once the carriage unit releases move it to the centre of the machine and take out the ink.switch on the machine without the ink and wait for the machine to ask for the ink.Install the ink and try the machine.Hope this will help.

Sometimes these are closed depending on models. All you need to try is to  turn this roller and see if  you can get the ink cleaning tray to release. Then move the carriage by hand to remove the ink.Hope this will help.
