Install MFP M180n on a different network

HP Recommended
LaserJet Pro MFP M180n
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

I've had my printer for about 3yrs now, connected to my home network, running on a broadband connection.

3 weeks ago, I changed to a fiber connection, and I thought connecting my printer on the new network would be easy & seamless. But, that wasn't the case.

The LAN port on the router refuses to recognize the printer.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but the printer works fine on the old broadband network (I'm keeping the broadband until I'm happy everything works fine).

Can anyone help ?

Hi

Obvious thought is that one Modem/Router is 192.168.0.1 and the other 192.168.1.1 networks.

However...

Hi there,

The problem with the new router is that it doesn't recognize the LAN connection. The indicator light doesn't even come on, so I couldn't check any network address.

It was/is on 192.168.1.114 on my old router, but because it's not recognized on my new router, I can't "see" it.

Not sure if I'm making sense here.....

Hi

So without more details, like the ISP and type of router etc. I am not sure what next.
