HP LaserJet 4000 Series
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there,

I just recently got a hold of an OLD HP LaserJet 4000 (like 20-25 years old) printer - it’s still works great however I have NO idea how to get it to work at my house. I’m actually not sure if it’s possible.
If somebody out there could let me IF this is even possible and if so, how to actually set it up.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

These printers will work, the easiest way to get it working is to purchase either an HP JetDirect EIO card such as a 620N or older 610N card, avoid the 615N card as they are very unreliable. An alternative is to get a parallel print server from TP Link which attaches to the parallel port of the printer and converts it to a network port so you can connect to your home network. My advice is avoid parallel to USB adapters as they are very unreliable.

Thank you so much for your help. Now upon further inspection it already DOES have a 615N card in it. How would I go about trying to hooking it up to my network?
