I can't print duplex and found on several community questions that the Class drivers may be causing the limitation in printer fonctionnality. I tried installing the latest drivers for Laserjet Pro M402n (file : HP_LJ_Pro_M402-M403_n-m-dn-dne_PCL6_Print_Driver_no_Installer_19134.exe), which I dowloaded from the HP driver download page. The file downloads correctly, but the extraction does not work. I tried finding an .inf file in the %temp% folder without success. Can anyone help with this?

Regards,

Hi,

the extraction is done to C drive, as clearly shown when launching the file, why would you look for it in the temp folder?

ShlomiL,

Thank you for your reply. I will go ahead and try to locate the files in this location and install the drivers.

Since you asked, here is a detailed answer on why I might have acted in such a way. I know you are volunteering for such help, so the information might be more useful if it was passed on to HP... and perhaps make your volunteering more efficient. (less requests) I could not find an adequate contact in the HP support pages to transfer this info. If you can suggest one, I'd be glad to pass on the info myself.

After checking back on both procedures on "HP website driver dowload page" for the driver in question one of the procedures DOES mention it will be extracted to a specific folder mentionned in the extraction window. (But not both) Not having read this procedure in the first place, but the other which didn't mention it, I went ahead and looked for it in the folder where I dowloaded the file (desktop in my case) which is usually the default extraction location for Winzip, Winrar, etc (really any extractor I used previously) so I guess I would say out of habit. I then went on to search in the %temp% folder, having read in other threads that without installer, the files would be extracted in this location. Finally, in the procedure that DOES mention how to properly locate the file, The first sentence reads "Click Run or Save File. The file will be downloaded to a temporary folder on your PC." Which to me could have been a clear indication that it would be located in the temporary folder. The procedure THEN reads "Make a note of the folder location in the self-extractor screen. This is where the files will be extracted." Having recently had a bit of training on written SOPs, I could suggest removing unecessary (and misleading in my case) information about temporary folder and going directly with something like "Click Run or Save File. The file will be downloaded to a folder in a predetermined location. The folder's location (path) is shown in the self-extractor screen." ...or something similar with perhaps better grammar and more concise sentences.

Thanks again, I'll update ounce I could try again (leave on a vacation for 2 and 1/2 weeks!

Cheers,
