This printer preforms a lot of daily office work. We have have it in service without any major issues for over 3 or so years (that being said the printer is out of warranty) and recently I've noticed that images that are printed will print with colorless vertical streaks/white dots/missing color? The cartridges we use and have always used are authentic. I have preformed all accessible cleaning maintenance steps from HP and the instructions the printer gives me itself to solve the issue to no avail... I'd like to also state that previously we battled with vertical black lines printing on scanned images, and came to find that cleaning the document feeder and scanner glass fixed that issue, but as this issue only presents itself when printing images from any location be it from scanned images, printed pictures to web pictures, the print quality is just pretty bad over all, makes me believe that this issue has a different origin...any help? Attaching the demo page and color diagnostic page I printed, which helped me to narrow down that the problem didn't lay within one of the printer cartridges itself as the vertical line/dots are present in all sections.printer 3.jpegprinter 4.jpegPrinter.jpegprinter2.jpeg

Based on the images, I would suggest you have either something stuck in the paper path or an issue with transfer belt. You state you have used in an office for 3 years, what is the current page count? These printers are primarily designed for single user or small office/home office. It is possible that in three years of office use you have exceeded the recommended page volume.

If I'm reading my usage page correctly this printer currently is at 92,080 impressions and counting. Any way I could check either the paper path or transfer belt for any problems?

Open the cartridge door, remove all cartridges and examine the grey belt underneath. Look at edges of belt at the back of the cavity to see if there are bits of paper there. If there are color lines on the belt then that is a clear sign that waste toner or a failed wiper blade is causing the problem.  It could be one of the toner cartridges causing the issue and you look at the greenish drums they should be clean and smooth. Any debris on the drums indicates a problem.

After following your instructions I can see a very suspiciously familiar pattern on the belt...

Thank you so much for the help! Any advise you have on next steps from here?Printer.jpg

P.S. Any ideas on how this damage could of happened? Would like to avoid doing anything in the future that may have caused this originally.
