Just taken delivery of a J4580.
Managed to print 3 A4 pages before the dreaded "Print cartridge problem......." is displayed.
Cleaned the print heads (of a BRAND NEW printer & inks) and still no luck.
Windows7 64bit driver also refuses to display ink levels.
Out of interest I installed the drivers (on disc supplied) on my laptop with XP Proand it's just the same result.
Many years of experience with Epson has taught me to stick with Canon for quality and reliability. I only got the hp because the company provided it via Pcworld. Judging by the amount of people with the same problem across many hp products, i'll stay away from this rubbish in the future!
Buy a Canon! It blows the competition away!:smileymad:

FIXED: there is a back-up printing function. Just remove the offending cartridge and close the door, press ok and it will go back to printing black and white only (or if the prolem is with the b+w cartridge, color only).
If you care, you can try cleaning the print heads: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01818839
But if that doesn't work at least you don't have to throw the printer away.
