LaserJet 2300n

Dear All,

I have a paper jam problem as the one of TonyD.

The only way to print without jamming is to print one copy with only one sheet of paper in the tray 2.

In this condition no problem at all!

Otherwise if I have two sheet of paper in the tray I have jamming.

The jamming happens like discrebed by Tony.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I never replaced any part.

I would suggest that you replace the pickup roller and the separation pad. It is also possible that the feed solenoid is sticking, this would be apparent if you hear the pickup roller make several rotations after the paper is already picked.

It is the so called sticky solenoid's jam problem.

When printing the pick-up roller should turn only once for one paper but when sticky solenoid's problem happening it'll turn two, three, or more than four times a time so the second page will be picked up too early which it's not allowed so you get two pages jammed one after another.

Fix the sticky solenoid problem and it'll be not happened again.

Google the service manual and find HP 2300 2200 2100 jam from YouTube and the jammed problem will be solved.

Dear Community,

I solved the solenoid problem regarding HP LaserJet 2300n and for a little while the printer was OK.

Now, again I have the same problem: I can print just a sheet at a time with only one sheet in the Tray 2, otherwise a jam paper happens. Moreover, if the are more than on sheet in the tray the printer gives a white sheet.

I suspect that there is something wrong with the syncronization, (namely, the sequentces of printer steps).

Thank you in advance for your help.

When you solved the solenoid problem did you put something in between solenoid metal? If not it will get sticky again because of the magnetic. You'll need to do it again. Put a V-shape paper will do.

Thank you very much East2100 for your timely advice.

However I am surprised because I removed all the glue from  the three solenoids.

What do you mean  with V-shape paper?

How can I paste V-shape paper?

Is it ok if I use insulating tape?

Best regards
