I reached out to HP Support about my computer - Printer Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdw. I spoke to someone at 2:40 PM (PST) on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. We set an appointment for them to call me on Wednesday Morning, December 10, 2025, at 8:00 AM (PST). At 8:45 AM, I still had not received a call. When I called the Support Number, the guy wanted to know who I spoke with.  At that time I did not have his name, so he looked it up and said it was "Marcus" and that he would call me back in 10 minutes. 

NEEDLESS TO SAY!!! That was a LIE, Marcus did not call me back and the Printer is still having the issues. The one thing that as a consumer, and a customer, I do not appreciate is the fact that your support team is unreliable and unhelpful. 

I will make sure to spread the word about the service and response I received from HP (Non) SUPPORT

HP Support does not free-print phone numbers or chat on the Internet.

 

According to the documentation I can find on this model, it was released in 2019.

 

HP Support accepts online submissions for in-Warranty devices.

 

If / when the submission is accepted, you will be provided a case number and contact information for your region.

It is fortunate that "Marcus" never called you back.

I doubt you were ever even close to HP Support.

 

It's common -- there are thousands of scam sites and it's easy to trip over one of them.

 

As long as you do not give out your bank information or let the scoundrels into your computer for a walk-about in your file system, the damage might be limited to having been made wiser the hard way.

Out of Warranty?  What to do...

 

For those of us who are "Out of Warranty", submitting a Warranty repair request to HP Support is not an option.

 

Open your device HP Product Home

Select Category Troubleshooting to find help for common issues.

OR

Select Category Setup & User Guides > Find and open the user manual for your printer.

 

HP Support does not generally provide free service for out-of-warranty devices.

Our HP Community is not HP Support; we do offer online help free of charge.
