Hi

I have an issue - when printing labels the text/ink comes off and is not "fixed" properly to the paper. This happens only when I print on label paper and not on plain paper. I am using the "Paper/Quality -> Labels" function. I use a high quality 100gsm label paper that has a bit rough surface and is supposed to be used for both inkjet and laser printers.  The ink stays a little better on the paper when I use the "Paper/Quality -> Labels" function compared to the "plain paper" function.

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,

Yes, printing on labels has always presented challenges in getting the toner to 'fuse' properly to the paper.

Generally, this is solved by increasing the fuser temperature. Some of the other LaserJets have a control panel menu setting for fuser temperature, but it appears that on the M15W you have it only allows control of the temp via the printer driver Paper/Quality setting, and it seems you are already setting it to 'Labels', which should be the higher temperature.

I have also experienced this problem with older toners, or perhaps cheap non-OEM toners, although there are also plenty of non-HP toners that cause no problem whatsoever.

I might suggest trying a different label to test whether you can get better fusing with it. If the results are the same, your printer may need a new fuser, particularly if you've run many pages through it already.

Try to select the paper like card or even more heavier to see if it helps.

If it still doenn't work then you may need to change another label to try and in the end you will find out that the HP M15w is not working well with label. It works fine with plain paper (which else not?) but not label.......

Thanks a lot for your answers. Do you know any other cheaper laser printers (black/white is ok) that works well for label printing?
