If you are using a non-genuine or refilled toner cartridges those can generate a squealing noise.

Thanks but I am using all genuine HP cartridge toners.

Take all four toner cartridges out then close the tray to hear if it sounds right.

Then put one toner cartridge back once a time then close and hear then put another one in.... and so on to see if you can find out which one may be the issue.

Thanks for this helpful idea but it made no difference. Even when initialising it makes a noise.

Now you know it's not coming from toner cartridges, Needing to find out from where next.

Thanks. Any ideas of where I look to fix it?

Your printer model is pretty complicated to disassemble and repair. If still under warranty I would recommend you to get it professional repaired/replaced.

Thanks for this information. It is, sadly, out of warranty. If I was to replace it, which printer would you recommend for a small home office?

HP Recommended

The one with the longest warranty, a minimum of 3 years.
