davidzuts,
Thank you sooooo much for your help! I attempted to start removing the image drive assembly, but unfortunately, one of the screws is overtightened, and I can't get it out. Regardless, loosening it was enough to free up the front door! Now... on to the next problem of what's causing my print quality issues.
I really appreciate your help.

You have built in diagnostics to help solve your print quality issues. Go to the diagnostics menu and choose the item pq troubleshooting and the printer will print a number of pages with instructions. Pay close attention to the solid fill pages since many times it is one bad toner that causes image issues. Usually one of the toners will be missing print on the right side. If one of the toner does not print correctly you have another tool to determine if the issue is the toner or the cartridge slot. In the same diagnostics menu there is a item called disable cartridge check. If you choose that item and wait till the printer says ready, diagnostics mode, open the front door and swap the toner that appears to have an issue with one that does not and close the door and after the checking is done and ready, diagnostics mode is on the display go to the same menu and print the pq troubleshooting pages again and see if the same color has an issue or if the it is now another color which you swapped indicating a slot issue. If a slot issue you need to remove the laser/scanner assembly and clean the lens. Rare on this model but it happens.

Ok -- I did the steps above. I have the image assembly off and the right side still will not move. When I took the image assembly off a small spring (1/4" including hooks on each end 3/4") fell out from some where. Also a small white plastice piece that looks to be broken and looks like spring may have been attached to.
