LaserJet M1212nf MFP Windows 10 upgrade does not recognize scanner

Have recently upgraded to Windows 10 64 bit.

Since the transition my PC is not recognizing the scanner on my printer.

I know it's there.

I know it works.

I can copy documents, but can't upload them to an e-file (scan).

I downloaded the HP Smart app, and when I select 'scanner' the error I get is:

HP Smart cannot scan from this printer. Either the printer does not have a scanner or HP Smart cannot use the scanner in this printer.

Then it goes on to offer to use a 'camera' or 'import' which is b.s. frankly.

I MUST have scanner use particularly now with our work from home/remote access.. I KNOW it's possible, because I had it working ON WINDOWS 10 before we left our office a month ago. I even briefly pulled up a 'preview' scan but now it's being a **bleep** and won't even acknowledge that it knows what a scan is.

Hi,

Your printer is not supported by the HP Smart app.

1. If the printer is connected with a USB, unplug the cable at this time.
2. Click the Start button and then the gear (settings) icon.
3. Click Devices and then Printers & Scanner.
4. Select any instance of your printer and select Remove Device.
5. Download and launch the HP Software for your printer:
   https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL32629/Im-80811-7/HP_M1130_M1210_MFP_Full_Solution-v2018...
   Note: for a USB connection, do not plug the cable till the installation guide to do so.
6. Select the required installation option, then click on Install Printer Software and follow the step on-screen to install your printer.

Once completing the installation, you may scan using the Scan To program.
