Printer was working fine then suddenly I see "Supply Problem" and can't use the printer anymore.  The cartridges are original HP branded cartridges.  The message indicated it is the black cartridge so I replaced it but still get the same error.  The firmware is Oct 20, 2020 so I suspect the recent change is causing the issue.  We probably have not tried to use the printer last since before that date.  I have tried unplugging and I have tried cleaning the contacts to no avail.  Is there a way to go back to the old firmware?

Hello,

May i know the below info to help you better ?

  • Is the printer connected in LAN ( Ethernet cable ) or Wireless or USB only ?
  • Did you see Error 79 being displayed on the printer display ?

Printer is connected via lan cable.  The only thing showing in the display is "Supply Problem" with a graphic depicting the black toner.

I was mistaken in my original message.  The cartridges are not OEM.  Perhaps I will try an OEM black cartridge to see if that gets me going again.

I would have suggested the same.

I shall wait for your reply.
