HP LaserJet MFP M236sdw Printer

Hello,

I am writing from Singapore regarding my HP LaserJet MFP M236sdw, which has become completely inoperable due to a critical hardware component failure after the warranty period expired.

The printer is trapped in a permanent boot loop. In an attempt to resolve the issue, I isolated the machine from all data connections (USB and Network) and attempted a complete NVRAM initialization (Turn the printer on.  After the white Status light blinks, press and hold the Resume button (down arrow) until the white Status light becomes solid. Release the Resume button).

The printer displays the following clear hardware fault signature:

   1. The screen briefly flashes "NV" to acknowledge the initialization command.

   2. It immediately throws a fatal Error 77 (Secure Device Failure) with all control panel LEDs blinking synchronously for 10–15 seconds.

   3. It briefly flashes Error 49 before hard-restarting itself.

   4. Upon rebooting, it settles back into a permanent Error 49 communication crash screen.

Because this sequence occurs when the machine is physically isolated from all external inputs and computers, it proves beyond doubt that the issue is a physical hardware degradation—specifically a corrupted or failed sector on the embedded flash memory/formatter logic board, preventing a secure boot.

As a consumer, I expect a core logic board component on an HP product to have a operational life expectancy significantly longer than just over a year past its warranty. A total component failure of this nature this early points heavily to a premature hardware defect.

Given the clear diagnostic proof of a failed motherboard component, I am requesting that an HP Case Manager review this flight for a one-time commercial goodwill exception or a subsidized replacement unit here in Singapore.

I look forward to your assistance in escalating this matter.
