I've got this printer that even when it's in sleep mode the leftside fuser fan is constantly running on high. I've done cold reset, updated to latest firmware to no avail. I'm guessing that it's the DC controller that controls it. Can anyone confirm. Thanks

Replaced DC controller, didn't fix it.

It's Fan 101 thats physically plugs into the power supply P/N  RM1-4549-000CN, if the DC controller only controls it then there must be a pass through from the power supply to the DC Controller. If not, then the Power supply controls this one...

Any other ideas?

Hello again

Fan 101 it's non to show the following error 57.04 Error as I understand you dont have it just yet

Recommended action on that error

1.Inspect fan FN101 to determine if its rotational movement is being obstructed.

2.Verify that the fan connection at connector J64 on the power supply PCA is securely seated.

3.If the error persists, replace the fan.

4.4. If the error persists, Replace Power supply PCA (RM1-4549-030CN).

On the service manual the Circuit diagrams on page 274 will show the diagram for the connector I could upload a picture but it will be too small let me know if you want it

There is no 57.04 in the event log, but there is a 47.2 error "Override in use" which I can't find any info on.

The 57 errors are generated when a fan doesn't spin.

Since this fan is spinning all the time you will not get an error.

All the fans are controlled by the DC controller, sometimes HP has pass through connectors in line with them to make it easier to replace them.

I did find a document that mention Fan 101 and the way it should run.

NOTE: NOTE: Cooling fan FN101 rotates at full speed for eight seconds when the product is turned ON, and then decreases to half-speed for approximately 10 minutes. After that time period, if there is no print job in the print queue, the fan will stop completely. The fan rotates at full speed during a print job.

Get out the stop watch!

The other item could be the fan itself.
