Hp LaserJet Pro 400 MFP m425dn
Other

Hello,

As stated above I'm working with an HP LaserJet Pro 400 MFP m425dn printer. It can print single sided documents with no issues. When I try to print double sided it constantly jams after printing the first side while being fed back in to print on the back side. I've tried updating the printers firmware with an active internet connection via ethernet, however it is already up to date. Currently it is on version "20160224." I've also tried installing the latests printer drivers on the computer I'm using (running windows 7) from HP's website using the full software solution install, however this didn't reslove the issue either. I'm using typical 8.5 by 11 paper that works on other printers I'm currently using just fine. Any suggestions regarding the jamming issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

From another forum:

"The jam is occurring during Duplex Printing, so if the printer thinks the paper is more fragile, it will use less pressure and not pick it up properly, which results in a jam! Changing the paper type to Plain (in pritner's web page, go to System tab, and Paper Setup, and set the Default Paper Type to Plain."

I had the same problem you have.  This fix worked for my LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne.

A long time ago, I had to set the paper type to "heavy" to get enough toner on the paper.

Now, I had to set it to "plain" to get it to print on both sides.
