My LaserJet Pro 1526dnf MFP prints and copies too light. It will not print and copy as well as it did when it was newer. I have tried about everything, but cannot get it to print any darker. I am on the second brand new HP 78A (CE278A) toner cartridge since this problem started, so I know it is not the cartridge. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sandy

Hi @Sandy222,
When your printer prints, does this light effect takes place on the whole page or only in some areas of the page?
Hope to hear from you soon,
Cheers!

Hi @Sandy222,
I see. Did that happen suddently or gradualy?
This might be related with a dirty laser/scanner glass. How clean is your printer from inside? Do you see any toner spilled?
Also, there are some springs where the cartridge sits that make contact with the cartridge. Check if these springs are not bent. I assume you have checked and experimented all the available print quality options from the printer's menus. Failing all, it could be a power supply issue or some bad contact of the cartridge with the printer's chassis.
I hope that helps. Let me know how it went.
Cheers!

Hi ALex,
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE. MY REPLIES ARE BELOW IN ALL CAPS. SANDY
I see. Did that happen suddently or gradualy? GRADUALLY
This might be related with a dirty laser/scanner glass. How clean is your printer from inside? Do you see any toner spilled? THE GLASS IS CLEAN. THE PRINTER IS CLEAN INSIDE, NO SPILLED TONER.
Also, there are some springs where the cartridge sits that make contact with the cartridge. Check if these springs are not bent. IT IS HARD TO SEE THEM. I DO NOT THINK THAT THEY ARE BENT. THE CARTRIDGE LOCKS IN NICE AND TIGHT.
I assume you have checked and experimented all the available print quality options from the printer's menus.
I HAD CHANGED VARIOUS SETTINGS IN THE PRINT MENUS IN MS WORD AND WORD PERFECT, BUT THAT DID NOT HELP A LOT. IN THE PRINTER'S MENUS, I HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT "PRINT DENSITY" WHICH I CHANGED FROM "3" to ""5" AND THAT HAS HELPED A LOT; BUT DOES THAT USE A LOT MORE TONER?
Failing all, it could be a power supply issue or some bad contact of the cartridge with the printer's chassis.
I hope that helps. Let me know how it went.
Cheers!
