LaserJet Pro M402n
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a user that has a LaserJet Pro M402n printer that is printing labels from the manual tray. She will insert the labels into the tray then print them from Microsoft Word 2019. The printer prompts her to insert paper into the manual tray (although the paper is already there). If she removes the paper and then inserts is again, it will pull the paper and print. It will also pull the paper and print if she hits the OK button. This is new behavior, in the past it would just print without prompting to insert paper if the paper was already in the tray. I've checked all the printer settings and nothing has changed to cause this behavior. My thinking is that maybe the manual tray paper sensor is starting to go bad. Any thoughts from anyone?

Check the setting for tray 1. If you have it set for manual feed it will typically pause and wait for paper. In the driver if you chose tray 1 instead of manual feed it should start right away. There should also be a setting for tray behaviour for tray 1 to prompt unless already loaded.

This worked. We didn't make any changes on the printer, but when we set to print to Tray 1, it worked as it should. Then we set the printer properties back to automatically choose the tray and it pulled from Tray 1 without prompting for paper. Weird - but at least it's working. Thanks.
